I'm afraid you've got the Mexican beer dermatitis

Derek has a mysterious rash on his hand. It actually looks more like a burn except that he didn't burn himself. I tried putting cortisone cream on it (because men don't like to admit that they might need medication) but that didn't help.

Derek emailed me something about this plant called Hogweed that reacts with the sun and causes a chemical burn. You can see we were grasping at straws here. As I'm googling images for Hogweed skin reactions I see a few pictures of people who had a reaction on their skin to lime juice and sun. I then remembered that before this mysterious rash appeared we had been at Todd and Meg's lake house drinking Corona with limes. Looks like we won't need Dr. House after all.

Diagnosis: Corona injury or "Mexican beer dermatitis"! I hope this will save someone from a similar Mexican beer fate.

Summer jam situation! Need your immediate help! And Daft Punk are kind of pervs.

It's not summer without a good summer jam. I've been keeping an ear out to see what it will be for summer 2013.

I was considering Daft Punks' Get Lucky but no, those French guys are pervs and I don't trust their faceless faces. Apparently all they care about is getting lucky while this poor girl is just out for some fun of the dancing kind.


Ok I actually weirdly like this song and the video is kind of mesmerizing BUT I feel like there must be a better Summer of 2013 Jam!

I've spent most of this week away from the computer which was needed. I haven't even checked facebook in a while which is a big deal for me. It's become a habit to take out my phone and just see what's going on on facebook. I'm trying to get better about this.

I've had the best time the past couple of days. I went to karaoke at a gay bar with my friend Ashley. Ashley is not gay but she has a few friends that are and this bar just has such a fun atmosphere. I can see why she goes there with her friends.

Derek's friend Paul is in the navy and leaving to fulfill his duties so we took him out on Friday. I may or may not have borrowed his hat.

In true Ginny style I ate some pizza days and promptly passed out not long after this.

There were more parties and grilling the rest of the weekend. I attempted grilling corn on the grill in the husk and it came out great! I like it better than just boiling.

I've barely been home and my cats have gone insane because of that. They are crawling all over me for attention. No amount of petting will satisfy them. They should be back to normal tomorrow I hope.

And happy Father's Day! Sending out my love to my dad who passed a long time ago but is certainly not forgotten.

Now it's Monday again. But I have a three day work week. I had some vacation days I had to use up before July or I'd lose them. Lazy staycation is it.

Pride and Prejudice confession

I have never read Pride and Prejudice. I know! Someone take my lady parts and revoke my female card. Don't worry because I'm reading it now. I've never heard a woman say a bad word about Pride and Prejudice. I confess I already love Darcy. Is anyone shocked? Not me. It's funny because I feel like I already know the story so well. I've seen many adaptations but it's time to step up and actually read it.

My first Austen book was Sense and Sensibility and loved it. Weird that I read that book first.

And can we just talk about this scene in Sense and Sensibility with Emma Thompson and Hugh Grant. Oh my god I love it so much.


When I first watched this scene I was like, this would probably be exactly how I would react. Emma Thompson I want to hug you.

Doing my best lobster impression

Spent a hot but beautiful day by a lake on Saturday. I managed to get a bit of a sunburn despite sunblock and chasing the shade. What can I say, I am practically albino.

My cousin's bridal shower was today. I loved my idea of putting flowers in tea cups.

I find bridal showers boring and they make me wish I was a dude and didn't have to go BUT I did have a good time and more importantly Alexis had a good time. Next up is the bachelorette party (holla!). Way more fun in my opinion. Seeing some pictures of me today was very much not fun. I feel like I look like a fat ass. Time to eat lettuce all the live long day! (Jokes! I like food too much to starve myself).

We've been roasting here in Boston and I don't have my AC in yet. Fun sweaty times over here. I have to wait for my landlord to put it in which means it will probably be put in in August when I'm ready to move. Hey it's like my own personal sauna. Might help with my fat ass problem.
