I've spent many a Valentine's Day single. It can be tough seeing roses, cards and declarations of love plastered all over social media. I've always preferred to think of Valentine's Day as a love yourself day. Have some wine, eat some cookies, watch your favorite movie or read
a good book. Don't stress that no one sent you roses. Isn't it better to receive roses on a random day when it's not expected?
Derek and I are staying in today since it's absolutely freezing out. The last time it was this cold in Boston
was in 1957. There's also a Rock of Love marathon on and the Walking Dead returns tonight. What more could a lady ask for Valentine's Day? Ah yes, there will be champagne.
Single, taken, I hope you have a lovely Valentine's Day. Do something nice for yourself.
Happy Valentine's Day! I have not celebrated at all, which is fine with me. I mean, I'm always looking for a good excuse to eat chocolate, so Valentine's Day is handy in that respect, but otherwise I could live without it.
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's Day, Ginny! At some point in our 25+ years, Magnum and I decided Valentine's Day just made card corporations rich, so we do a sort of passive boycott of the commercialization part. I don't remember what I thought of it when I was single, too long ago. Enjoy! Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteIt's freezing here too so I've spent the day watching Marvel movies while wearing my dino PJs. I bought myself some fancy lipstick too!

ReplyDeleteHappy Valentines day. Although it's over now. I spent most of the day with just my younger daughter here in the States and then picked up my partner from the airport, so not really a romantic celebration at all, but that's fine by me.
