Don't mess with my Chinese food

I'm in a fight with Golden Temple right now which is upsetting because it's one of my favorite Chinese food places. Last night I was really craving some crab rangoon and egg rolls. A good egg roll is the standard I hold Chinese food restaurants to. If you screw up an egg roll you might as well just close up shop. Golden Temple has good egg rolls and they give you a ton of duck sauce. You can never have too much duck sauce.

But you are on my shit list now Golden Temple.

We order our food through Grubhub and started watching The Last Kingdom. The best part is when Alexander Dreymon is coming out of the water with no shirt on and all you see is a back and long hair and Derek was like "hey there" and then he turns around and that's when Derek realizes it is in fact a dude. I probably should have warned him but it was funnier this way.

So we're waiting for our food and watching Netflix and we're both starting to get hungry. I look at my phone and it's been over two hours since we ordered the food. Golden Temple can take a while but two hours? I call Golden Temple to find out the status and this woman tells me that there's no order for our address. Um excuse me? There better be because Grubhub already charged the credit card. She asks for the name of the person on the order and goes to look again. Now a different guy gets back on the phone and tells me that we cancelled the order. I very politely inform him we didn't cancel and he very rudely says "yes you did it says right here that you did".

Now I'm getting pissed. I'm hungry and I've been waiting for this food that's been paid for and now this guy is going to give me attitude?

I could feel Boston Ginny just waiting to burst out.

I tell him that we did not cancel the order. There's isn't even an option on Grubhub to cancel and we were already charged. I ask him what we can do to get this order through since we already paid.

Do you know what he says?

"You listen to me! You call Grubhub. You cancelled it, you have to call them."

Are you effing kidding me? Are you for real? We keep arguing back and forth and I finally yell at him to forget it and hang up while he's still yelling "no you listen to me!"

Now I have to call Grubhub to get this taken off the card. I'm put on hold for about fifteen minutes and have to suffer through hold music that sounds like it's coming from a phonograph. I finally get someone from Grubhub on the phone who's actually very nice. He confirms that the order was not cancelled and that you can't cancel through the website, you have to call Grubhub and then Grubhub cancels it. Thank you for validating me Grubhub customer service guy.

We ordered Pizza Days instead which arrived in fifteen minutes and saved the day.

WHAT HAPPENED!!!

After voting last night I went over to my friend's house to watch the election results roll in. I was optimistic at the beginning of the night but that feeling was quickly replaced by panic as the night unfolded. How could we elect Donald Trump as president? It truly shows how much hatred lies in the hearts of the American people. All we can do is hold on as best we can over the next four years and hope for better days.

Too nervous to sit.

Hold onto your wine. You're going to need it.

Trying not to panic!
That's really all I have to say because if I keep thinking about it I'll cry again.

Someone's about to get straight up beat in Chicopee Massachusetts

Someone's about to get straight up beat in Chicopee Massachusetts. My debit card info was stolen and I'm pissed. My bank actually called me because they noticed that it was impossible for me to be in both Boston and Chicopee at the same time. I had to google Chicopee to see where it is (no man's land aka Western Mass.) That's about the only useful thing my bank did.

It took me 45 minutes of repeatedly calling my bank and being put on hold and hung up on before I finally spoke to someone in the fraud department. I was in full on bitch mode. If I had one more person ask me for my social, birth date, blood type and the last thing I ate just so they could tell me the fraud department was busy I was going to lose it. One guy was like "ma'am I can tell you're upset". Was it the shrill pitch of my voice that gave it away or the "I swear to God if you disconnect me one more time I'm going to lose it!" They kept giving me the number for the fraud department but it was the number I just called so obviously it's not the direct number to the fraud department.

Once I got through to the fraud department they told me to call back when the fraudulent charges cleared and then they can refund the money.

So yea fun day for me.

Find something more important to be outraged by. Christmas tree edition.

Sometimes I read something and I just get so rage filled that I have to take to my blog and share the outrage.

I came across this article on Boston.com

Belmont PTA Decides Students Can Handle ‘Offensive’ Christmas Tree in ‘The Nutcracker’

Apparently some of the religious content in the Nutcracker could be offensive towards some students. The biggest offender being the giant Christmas tree on stage.

Are we for real here? Do we need to shelter our children from anything that might be deemed "offensive"? Is a child really going to be offended by a Christmas tree? No, it's the parents that are "offended" and projecting this onto the children. Then send your child to a religious school of your choosing where they will not be exposed to any culture or art that could be related to another religion. Don't take them to the mall or drive around your neighborhood until January. Problem solved.

Do these parents know the history of the Christmas tree?

"The use of evergreen trees, wreaths, and garlands to symbolize eternal life was a custom of the ancient Egyptians, Chinese, and Hebrews. Tree worship was common among the pagan Europeans and survived their conversion to Christianity in the Scandinavian customs of decorating the house and barn with evergreens at the New Year to scare away the devil and of setting up a tree for the birds during Christmastime." - source

Instead of complaining to the PTA why don't you talk to your child about the history of the Christmas tree and take them to a performance at your place of worship. Let them go to the Nutcracker which is a classic ballet that everyone should see at some point. Stop sheltering your children and instead talk to them.

Honestly I'm sick of people complaining about seeing a Santa or a tree somewhere and being offended. Get yourself educated. Santa and Christmas trees are both based on pagan traditions. Find something more important to be offended by.

Let's just change the name of Thanksgiving to Black Friday Eve

Best Buy has decided this year to open at 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving for Black Friday. That's one hour earlier than last year. Their reason is that other stores do and because they didn't open that one hour earlier last year lost money.

Well Best Buy why not just open on Thanksgiving morning at 6 a.m. I mean it's not like your workers have families and if there are people already camped out outside of your store two weeks before Thanksgiving clearly they don't want to spend time with their families either. They also don't have jobs. Wouldn't any true American chose a bargain on a tv over spending time with their loved ones or getting a job?

Let's just change the name of Thanksgiving to Black Friday Eve. It's like Christmas Eve but instead of people going to mass everyone will wait in lines.

So on this years Black Friday Eve I hope you gather round the table with your loved ones (unless they are working retail of course) and map out your plan of attack for the best deals. Maybe bring your unemployed aunt who's been waiting outside of Best Buy for two weeks an extra blanket. God bless her strength for waiting in lines for the best deal on a TV.

After you get your deals don't forget to gather round the tv to watch news coverage of people being trampled in a Walmart or a mother punched in the face for hoarding Xboxes.

MERICA!

The news is dying and Buzzfeed is killing it.

The news is dying guys. Sites like Buzzfeed and Mashable are taking over. I'm tired of "18 times a pizza looked like a Disney character" being considered news. This is the crap I'm seeing on CNN. CNN should not be modeling their site after Buzzfeed.

I miss real reporters reporting real news. I came across this article on Boston.com that literally copied an Urban Dictionary entry for fishbowl and posted it. Shine up that Pulitzer. Don't forget to thank Urban Dictionary  and "copy and paste" when you accept your prize.

Even weather.com is getting in on the news that's not news action. I go to check the weather and maybe see weather related news and instead I get "the 10 worst places to live". You are weather.com! Tell me about the weather!

Video news stories with no summary below drive me bonkers too. Sometimes I just want read about what happened not watch a video with 10 ads before I can get to the actual video to find out what happened.

Thank you for ruining the news Buzzfeed.

I hate the Mass Pike

I mean does anyone love the Mass Pike? Yes it's a convenient highway but when you are charged to use a road I am not a fan.

I was visiting my mother yesterday for her birthday. We went to the movies and saw As Above So Below. I was glad to get a break from the moving insanity that was happening in my neighborhood. I take the Pike to get to her house as it's the quickest route. On my way home when I came to the first toll where you grab a ticket there was no one at any of the ticket booths. I kept looking and looking and I just drove through because I can't stop in the middle of the highway. When I get to the toll collector I tell her why I don't have a ticket and she tells me that I have to pay $5.50 since I don't have a ticket. Are you kidding me? I explained to her that there was no one handing out tickets at the last toll and she basically said they must have been switching shifts and there is nothing she can do. The rage I felt was Hulk level. I was pissed.

So the Mass Pike can kiss my ass. I shouldn't have to pay to use a road in the first place and now you charge me extra for your employees not being where they are supposed to be.

At least I got to hang with Mr. Binx. Animals are a good stress reliever.

A PSA about dick pix

Apparently this needs to be said because it's still happening.

No one wants to see your dick pix. I have never once in my life met a woman who was thrilled about receiving an unsolicited picture of your private bits. Do you go up to a woman in a bar and say "hey there" and then drop your pants? NO! It's inappropriate in person and on the internet.

No woman is going to be impressed. No woman is going to want to sleep with you for sending a dick pic. In fact she's probably telling all her friends about what an idiot you are. In fact she may also send it to your mother because I'm sure she didn't raise you that way.

So just STOP. Stop making a fool out of yourself and stop treating woman like crap because that's what you're doing. Stop getting mad when a woman calls you out on sending pictures that she does not want. STOP.

*No I am not using online dating at the moment because I have a boyfriend who I met online and did not send me a dick pic. I'm very glad Tinder was not around two years ago because I probably would have lost all faith in online dating.

And I am O-U-T

I don't need your "for her" prdocuts I need products that work

Jezebel has an article about how women's razors are a total racket and they absolutely are. The article got me thinking about products marketed towards women and how they stand up to the men's version.

First of all I don't need a pink razor with sparkles. I need a razor that works and the fact is that men's razors work better. Don't our legs deserve a close shave? Do I need to smell like a vanilla ocean breeze after shaving? No one is sniffing my legs (that I'm aware of).

Let's move onto deodorant. Men's deodorant works better than women's. Are our armpits too delicate for stronger deodorant? I don't normally wear men's deodorant because I can't be distracting myself smelling like a sexy dude. It does works better though.

Bic decided that women needed their own pens.

Thank God because I was sick and tired of those manly pens that my delicate lady fingers could barely hold. If only the ink was in glitter I'd be truly happy with my lady pen.

Now since I haven't tried a "for her" pen I can't say if they are better or worse than old fashioned manly pens.

All I want is a basic product that works and doesn't smell like a Yankee Candle store explosion. Is that too much to ask? If you're going to make a "pretty" pink razor then at least make sure it works as well as the men's version.

How about we don't shame people's reading choices

I finished reading The Fault in Our Stars and as predicted there were many tears involved. I don't even know if I can handle the movie. I might need a little time to recover before I attempt to watch it on the big screen. It was a very good book though and I enjoyed it immensely. It gave me all the feels.

Speaking of YA novels I've seen quite a bit of discussion going on regarding this article on Slate. The headline reads "Yes Adults Should be Embarrassed to Read Young Adult Books." What a load of crap. I read YA novels because I enjoy them and no I'm not embarrassed. No this is not taking me away from reading "adult books" as I read those as well. There are good YA novels and bad YA novels just there are good and bad books in every genre.

"But if they are substituting maudlin teen dramas for the complexity of great adult literature, then they are missing something."

So there is no value in reading something I enjoy? I have to read complex adult literature or be ashamed? I can't appreciate a good story or writing because it's a YA novel? Bullcrap!

I could go on but I think you get the point.

Read what you want people, just read something! I don't care if it's fantasy, YA, romance, sci-fi or a "classic". Don't be embarrassed for liking a certain genre, be embarrassed for the writer of this article who is shaming people's reading choices.

Because I totally have 10,000.00 to spend on dental work

I went to the dentist today and everything seemed to be going well. I have no cavities and my gums and roots look fine. All great news, until my dentist gives me the bad news. Five of my back teeth are very work down due to acid erosion. Don't worry I'm not bulimic or anything, good old acid reflux is to blame apparently. They can do a permanent ceramic partial crown but that will cost 2,000.00 a tooth! I have five teeth that need it done. Now I'm not good at math but I'm good at realizing that's a lot of freaking money.

My dentist is now going to write a letter to my insurance company basically telling them why they should cover this. Most likely insurance will come back and say no, because we're an insurance company and would rather let your teeth erode away and have very expensive root canals and teeth implants in the future. Yes, that makes total sense.

So I guess the dentist was a win lose lose lose lose lose situation today.

I'll pass on the King's Landing pool thanks

Derek and I are apartment hunting and quite frankly it sucks.

We're not asking for much. It has to not be a shit hole, allows cats, has a dishwasher and is public transit accessible. Apparently realtors on Craigslist think we should pay them a full months rent as a fee for shit holes.

If you're too lazy to post pictures on Craigslist why would I even bother calling about the apartment and why would you ever deserve a fee? You don't.

Would it kill you to spell words properly? Can you read a rental contract because I'm concerned a 6 year old is posting ads.

One apartment we saw advertised a pool. Derek thought awesome! I thought this is too good to be true.

The pool was in the middle of a parking lot with giant spikes around the top. Am I swimming here or is this where Ned Stark's head goes? No thank you King's Landing pool.

The search continues and I may pull a Joffrey level fit soon.

me me me me ME

My mother called me at work yesterday all worked up.

"Did you see what's happening on facebook?"

"No mom, what's gong on?"

"Well Sean posted that he was coming home for a visit and everyone wants him to go visit them."

At first I didn't understand why she was annoyed by this but then I looked on facebook and could see why.  There were all of these comments along the lines of "I'm not working Monday, you can come visit me then". No one offered to go to him or asked what his plans were they just took it upon themselves to tell him when it's convenient for them.

My brother and his wife have an 11th month old. Did anyone think that maybe they don't want to be driving all over Massachusetts with an infant?

I understand that people want to see him while he's up here but there's no way he can get to see everyone in a week, especially when he's expected to make the trip to them. It also doesn't help that my brother said yes to everyone.

My mother sent an email to my brother reminding him that he's not going to have time to see everyone. Even when your 26 you're never too old to get a friendly mom reminder.

I would like to mention that my mother has not gotten everyone on facebook to refer to her as princess grammie. I'm use to calling her most beautiful and wondrous mother (at her request) so it's a bit of an adjustment.

This is not offensive.

This is just ridiculous. If you don't want to click over, the RMV in Braintree took down their Christmas decorations after one person complained that it was "offensive" to only have decorations up for one holiday.

You might think it was a manger or something else that has religious meaning but no, it was a tree and some Santa decorations hanging on a wall. As someone who actually went to CCD I can tell you that nowhere in the bible does it say "and then Jesus was born and they decorated a pine tree with lights and angels. Then Santa came and left Jesus a wooden toy hand craft by tiny elves."

I don't consider Christmas trees or Santa religious. In fact I know a few people who are Jewish and put up a tree and decorate it because it's fun. Santa and trees have nothing to do with Jesus. And if I walked into the RMV and saw a Menorah. I wouldn't care. You know why? Because it doesn't change my life. It's not forcing someone else's beliefs on me. So get over yourself and focus that negativity towards something that actually deserves it.

Well now you've really set me off. A mini Fifty Shades rant.

I'm reading Fifty Shades Darker. I'm trying to finish what I started but it's hard. It's so hard because the writing is still so bad. People have told me that it improves as the series continues. I have not seen that improvement. At least when I finish no one can say "well you haven't read the whole series so you can't say that it's bad".

At the very least it makes good blog fodder.

So what has set me off in Fifty Shades Darker?

Is it that fact that Ana pretty much stops eating after leaving Christian? That did annoy me but not as much as this.

My inner goddess is doing a triple axel dismount off the uneven bars.

If you're a girl and you don't know that a triple axel is figure skating and the uneven bars is gymnastics I am revoking your right to have lady parts.

Who is EL James' editor? Did you even read this thing?

I looked in the front of the book to see if it says who the editor is and discovered this little treat:

The author published an earlier serialized version of this story online with different characters as "Master of the Universe" under the pseudonym Snowqueen's Icedragon.

I needed a good laugh. Some Snowqueen. She doesn't even know what a triple axel is.

I don't care if someone enjoys this series. I've read some books of questionable quality, but please stop saying the writing in this series is good. It's not. It's written by a Twlight fan girl woman, who wrote a series based on someone else's idea.

I have a feeling this book will be flying across the room very soon, much like when I read the c-section by vampire teeth scene in the last Twilight book.
