early 20s vs late 20s

Well I'm officially in the last year of my 20s. I got to thinking about how I've changed since my early 20s and there has been some pretty big changes.

My dating life: In my early 20s (and heck even my mid 20s)! I dated jerks. If a guy showed me attention and was in a band (insert eye roll). I was all over that. The problem is a lot of these guys were not looking for anything serious and if I thought about it were not right for me. Now this isn't to say that there aren't nice musicians out there. I just was not going after them because why would I like to make things easy and date a nice guy who had his life together?

Honestly if I met some of those guys I dated now I would not be attracted to them.

Style: Sometimes I wore clothing that was a little too tight and a little too short. No need for that. Next up is actually purchasing belts. I'm pretty anti belt but it needs to happen. I'm also much more into wearing dresses now.

Confidence: Still working on this but it's getting better. I'm more likely to stick up for myself now and not be a doormat.

Religion: I was raised Catholic but as of right now I don't consider myself to be part of any religion. I won't go into this too much as it can be a touchy subject but I now consider myself an atheist.

I feel like I've grown a lot since my early 20s so I have to assume that I'll only get better with age. For my 30s I hope to improve my eating and exercise habits, travel more, buy my own home perhaps start a family (hey I've got 11 years here.....) but let's not talk about that yet. I still have one more year of my 20s left.

  1. It's amazing how much we change as people over time. It doesn't seem like so much until you really start to think about it. I'm still in my early 20s, and I know I've changed a LOT since my late teens... so I can imagine how much I'll change in the next few years.

Glad that you're not dating jerks anymore, and that you stick up for yourself more!

  3. My pants just stay up so I too do not wear belts. I know im supposed to because of the belt loops, but it's the last thing on my mind during the 10 minutes I've allotted to getting dressed and out the door each morning.
