Germana and Andy's wedding

My phone charger stopped working so I only have before and after photos from the wedding. Note to self: bring digital camera to future weddings.

Wedding highlights:

Actually getting to eat the appetizers.

Sam Schoenfeld's bar mitzvah. He's a man now!

Lil Anne smuggling meat in her napkin for later.

Derek actually making an appearance on the dance floor.

Jamie being accused of stalking the New England Patriots. "You know what you're doing here." "No I don't. I'm trying to find my room."

Bugles aka America's #1 finger hat snack.

Noise complaint on the hotel after party. "I bet it was Tom Brady!" Hotel security saved the day by lettings us party in the hall by the lobby.

"You could make a banana pie with that banana!" "I don't know why I just said that..."

It's my Friday!

One of my best friends is getting married Saturday so I took tomorrow off to get my nails did and run some errands. I love weddings and vacation days.

Drinks with co-workers tonight and I get to sleep in tomorrow.

Started putting up Halloween decorations. I don't care that it's still September.

Two tickets for the Ed Sheeren 2017 World Tour. Price unknown. It's a shame I'll be washing my hair that night.

Hanging Tough

Spotted in Wahlburgers

A giant photo of Donnie Wahlberg at Fenway performing with New Kids on the Block. I was at that show!

And yes, I am tough enough.

Phantom of the Opera

Friday night I made Derek be my date to see Phantom of the Opera at the Boston Opera House. Our seats were three rows back from the stage. I decided to treat myself since I will not be seeing Hamilton when it comes to Boston due to the very high ticket price. It was a great production and I'm not just saying that as a Phantom fan. Even Derek said he enjoyed it and he is not generally a fan of musicals.

The ladies room during intermission was interesting. As you can imagine there was a very long line but it was moving. When I made it to the bathroom entrance I could see that each stall was numbered and there was a woman with a microphone directing people into empty stalls. It was so efficient that I actually got out of the bathroom before Derek. The men's room did not have anyone directing men to the urinals. This was the first time I've experienced a bathroom director and I think more venues should do it. We all know how long the line for the ladies room can be so anything that helps is a good thing.

The time suck that is Lifetime

How do you do it Lifetime? How do you make terrible movies that we can't help but watch? Last night I watched My Daughter is Missing.

It's Lifetime's version of Taken but with a mother trying to save her daughter. She can pick locks, run after bad guys and track rerouted IP addresses all while maintaining perfect hair. Impressive. My favorite line was "you messed with the wrong mom!"

Bosco was not feeling good last night. He got sick four times. I cleaned up the first mess right before bed only for Derek to inform me ten minutes later that he puked again. Number three and four happened sometime during the night. He's still eating and drinking but I'm keeping an eye on him.

High Def Tears With My New Sharp Roku TV

They say when one door closes, another one opens. On Saturday I went couch shopping and came home with a new TV. It's about time this TV lover upgraded. I've had the same small TV for ten years which apparently is a lifetime according to the sales guy at Best Buy. I wanted something bigger than my last TV but not gigantic since I have a small living room. I ended up picking a Sharp 43" Roku TV which is the perfect size.

Setup was really easy. I plugged in my cable box and the TV pretty much did the rest. I haven't tested out the (built in) Roku aspect yet but the picture is amazing! It's like finally getting glasses and seeing everything clearly. I can't wait to watch all the crying on the Bachelor in high definition.

Price: $249.99 on sale at Best Buy

Clestial Seasonings Vanilla Rooibos Tea. What can't it do?

If you know me at all you know I judge a drink by it's cover. If I see a bottle of wine with a fun or weird label, I'm going to buy it. Every time I go down the tea isle at the supermarket I'm always drawn to the Celestial Seasonings boxes. Animals drinking tea like humans in various settings? I'll buy it! I was looking for a new decaf tea to try since my body hates me and won't let me have caffeine and I came across a very regal tiger enjoying a nice cuppa. I'd never heard of rooibos tea but I was willing to give it a try. If it's good enough for a cartoon tiger on safari, it's good enough for me.

I'm totally hooked on this tea and that's ok because it won't keep me up at night and might possibly make me Benajmin Button with it's anti aging properties. I'm a cream and sugar in my tea kind of girl but I use nothing with this tea. It doesn't need it. The vanilla adds a nice sweetness.

Here are some of the health benefits of red rooibos tea:

  • reduces blood pressure
  • treats allergies
  • eases headaches
  • antispasmodic properties
  • helps with insomnia
  • prevents kidney stones
  • prevents aging
  • improves skin
  • rich in minerals

I should be bathing in this stuff.

Price: $3.39 for a box of 20 at Celestial Seasonings.com

It's cute boot season

While winter is ugly but weather appropriate boot season, fall is cute boot season. To celebrate I have purchased two new pairs of boots from Nine West.

The first pair is the Xtravert Open-Heel Booties.

Cute and comfortable. The gold studs in the heel are what really sold me on these booties. I definitely feel like an xtravert while wearing these.

Price: $83.30 (on sale)

The second pair of boots I bought is the Eltynn Over the Knee Boot.

There was no way I was not getting these perfect boots. I've already pictured at least five different skirts I can wear these with. They go over the knee to help keep my knees warm. They even have stretchy material in the back to accommodate my muscular but ladylike calves.

Price: $146.30 (on sale)

I'm trying to stay away from the Nine West website right now because I'm afraid I'll buy all the boots.

Rainy camping trip to Sandy Pond

The camp store is getting fancy with their own "line" of spices.

It rained all day Sunday but we had plenty of food and plenty of very green flora.
