Halloween FOMO

I did a full body work out video from the youtubes and let me tell you my entire body is sore so I give it a painful two thumbs up. I'm expecting my six pack any day now.

You know what else is painful? THIS PUMPKIN.

Barbed wire? Ugh my poor heart.

I went to RISE of the Jack O'Lanterns on Sunday in the Seaport district and yes we saw some cool pumpkins but I would not go again and it was not worth the price of admission. Without the discount the tickets were $30 each. We paid less than that but it was still too much.

There were kids everywhere and people taking photos with their flash which is really distracting when you're in the dark trying to see a bunch of pumpkins. There are signs everywhere asking people to not use the flash on their camera but no, they had to get a picture of precious Tommy running around in a circle screaming his head off.

Derek: I don't think there are actually 5,000 pumpkins here.

me: I'm just pissed that no one properly cleaned these pumpkins on the floor out!

Derek: Is that rotting pumpkin or a child?

me: I really don't know.

I'm making it sound worse than it was. At least there was this dragon and I got popcorn. Popcorn makes everything better. I could tell Derek wanted to get the hell out of there after about five minutes. I appreciate that he let's me drag him to stuff. Sometimes I drag him to fun things though and that's how I keep getting him to go.

I could have gone out tonight. There were a few options to celebrate Halloween but I decided to be lazy on my couch. I tend to be a bit of a social butterfly and have a hard time turning down an invitation. Sometimes I need to just stay in and relax. It's good for me and it's good for my wallet. I'm getting better at not saying yes to everything but it's still something I'm work on. FOMO is real.

So here's my Halloween costume; lazy vampire girl on couch.

Is that you Keytar Bear?

Keytar Bear is one of the more well known buskers in Boston, and my personal favorite. I thought I spotted him at the Cambridge Brewing Company's 9th annual Great Pumpkin Festival on Saturday but I quickly realized it was just a Halloween costume and not the Keytar Bear. If people are dressing up as you for Halloween I'd say you're a pretty famous busker.

Car full of bees, every girl's dream.

I just remembered that in my 6th grade yearbook I said I was going to be a chemist, an Olympic gold medalist (for swimming) and I was going to drive a Mazda. I still don’t know why I specifically picked a Mazda but I was a weird kid so there you go.

Although I never became a chemist or an Olympic gold medalist, I did end up driving a Mazda for a bit. It was a 1990 Mazda Protege that had bees coming through the vents. Dream big kids and maybe one day you too can drive a Mazda full of bees.

I'm very popular on twitter, trust me.

There's this thing that I do when I find out that someone is not on twitter. I tell them I'm very popular on twitter. I always thought people knew I was kidding but apparently some people thinK this is a real true thing. I blew up my own spot yesterday when I mentioned to a co-worker that I only had 637 followers. Her response: "That's it? I thought you had more than that? Aren't you popular on there?" There's a lesson here, and that lesson is to lie. From now on if anyone who is not on twitter asks, I have 10k followers. DON'T YOU KNOW WHO I AM?

Honestly, I don't really care I just think it's funny that people actually believed me when I said I was popular on twitter.

Not all heros wear capes

Some wear pajamas and dig through the trash.

It's 12:30 at night and all we can hear is a smoke detector going off outside, so I go outside trying to find the source. After a few minutes of "sciencing the shit out of this" by walking back and forth and listening I realize it's coming from one of the trash bags on the curb.

Derek comes out at this point and we start ripping open trash bags. Bag number 3 was the winner. I pull out the smoke detector and hold it over my head and then smash it in the street. It was like that scene in the 300 when the guy kicks the other guy down the hole, you know in slow motion with my abs glistening.

The beeping stops and someone across the street starts clapping. I go back inside and wash off my foot because I got organic avocado on it. Good thing I live near Whole foods. Sorry garbage truck guys for the ripped open trash but we needed to sleep!

It's finally happening!

The season premiere of the Walking Dead is less than a week away! AMC had a series recap special that was on yesterday and it was a good refresher as to what's happened over the course of the show. Fiona is catching up and will be watching with me on Sunday. I'm getting my box of tissues ready because someone is dead (we just don't know who yet) and the episode teaser got me all worked up.

I can't wait for Sunday! This is going to be me.

Candy corn is the devil's candy

Looks like I feel off the blog bandwagon. Have no fear for I am back with boring details of my life.

I bought candy corn and put it by my desk at work and my co-workers love/hate me for it. How can you resist candy corn? The candy we all hate but still eat.

I have another Halloween party on Saturday and I'm pretty excited about my costume. It's a secret but I will post pics.

I made an appointment to look at wedding dresses in November. Almost at the six month mark. It still feels far away but really six months isn't all that long. I'm pretty excited to try on some dresses.

I think I pulled a muscle in my back. It's not terrible but it's not fun either. All this because I lifted my arm to grab a box. I didn't even touch the box!

Last night we went to see the KONGOS at Royale. It was a pretty good show, I just wish they went on earlier than 10:15. This isn't out of the norm for a headliner but I always hope they get on stage before 10.

Bring on the accordion!

They were playing this song when I took this picture.

Tonight I'm relaxing in my pjs and watching American Horror Story. This season has been pretty good so far. I've definitely yelled out 'OH MY GOD WHY!" quite a few times. Its been a bit gory at times but it's really good.

It's October so let's go to a Halloween party

I've already been to my first Halloween party this year. I had no clue what to dress up as so I just decided to paint my face. Well half of my face.

The rain smudged the paint a bit but overall I think it came out ok for my first time. I had to keep reminding myself to not touch my face which of course made me think about all these itches that I wouldn't normally have if I knew I couldn't touch my face!

Derek's costume is.....Derek! He's not a big costume person.

I have one other Halloween party coming up and I'm fully dressing up for that. I originally had one idea in mind but then I saw this dress online (that was on sale to boot) and now I'm going as something completely different.

The weather has been really crap with all of this rain. I know we need it but I still don't like it. I want a nice fall day with no rain.
