So ready to stuff my face.

I really love Thanksgiving. Who doesn't like a short work week and stuffing your face? Crazy people that's who.

I'm going to Derek's parent's house for Thanksgiving. In my 28 years of existence I've never been to a boyfriend's family's home for Thanksgiving. I feel like a real live adult now! I rented a zipcar for the journey. I miss having my own car but there's no point in buying a new car in Boston in the winter. It will just be buried under snow until spring.

I'd like to share with you my favorite foods from Thanksgiving:

stuffing
mashed potatoes
rolls (with butter of course)
squash
turnip (I'm weird. Love me some turnip)
green bean casserole
pumpkin pie

Turkey is kind of last on my list. I'll eat turkey and like turkey but I'm more of a sides gal. Let's not forget pouring gravy on everything - well except the pumpkin pie, but if that floats your gravy boat go for it.

  1. Good luck with the boyfriend's family Thanksgiving. I've always avoided situations like that like the plague. What a grown-up thing to do! Haha.

Also, this post got me in the mood to eat some mashed potatoes. Probably my favorite thing on the Thanksgiving day table, aside from those little baby corns on the relish plate.

  2. Hey I saw you on 20SB!

My first thanksgiving with the boyfriend in Ohio, his uncle took me shooting.......for a New York Girl I was totally out of my element and freaking out...that being said, now his family loves me so coming for Thanksgiving is always a good way to meet everyone all at once and quickly be apart of the family.

also Sides are totally the best part of thanksgiving...or the pumpkin pie for breakfast the next morning :P

    1. Oh God I would be terrified if I had to shoot. I've never done it so I wouldn't want to do it for the first time in front of people I just met.
