Bon Voyage Melissa and my 20s

One of my best friends is currently road tripping across to country to her new home of Colorado. This move is bitter sweet for me. On one hand I know that this move is something she wanted but on the other hand she will no longer be right down the street from me. Melissa is the person that I did everything with in my 20s and her moving feels like officially closing the door on that time of my life. I'm a little sad but that's because I had a great time in my 20s. I had great friends and a good job and I enjoyed myself.

One of my co-workers the other day said that in her next life she wants to come back as me. I told her, trust me you don't, I have a horrible stomach. Her reasoning was that I'm always out and about and having fun. I would say that's true. I plan on keeping the good times rolling in my 30s because that's just who I am. The good times will involve different people and different types of fun but fun will be had.

I wish Melissa the best in her new Colorado adventure. Boston will miss her and I will miss her but thankfully we have the internets to stay in touch and many old photos from those crazy nights of our youth.

  1. I don't like to brag, but Colorado's a pretty cool place. I couldn't imagine living anywhere else. Hopefully it works well for her.

I'm enjoying the hell out of my 30s. I'm in the best shape of my life, I'm financially stable, and now I can have a night of drunken fun without worrying if I can afford my ramen noodles the next day. Yes, goodbye 20s. We had fun, and it's been real, but let's not do that again.

    1. I think my 30s are going to be even better than my 20s. I feel like I got most of my stupidity out of the way in my 20s so now it's time to move up to classier things like pizza at 3 a.m.

I think she will love Colorado.

  2. 30s are much better. The older I get, the happier I get - I wish the same for you.

  3. Aw, you guys are so sweet together! It's too bad that she has to move away. I wish you many good friends in your life, new and old, near and far.

    1. I'm lucky to still have many good friends who live near by. Hopefully no one else is planning on leaving though.

  5. There's that saying about closing and opening doors. I won't say it.

Way to stay positive in the wake of your good friend moving to Colorado. You can always go visit her, right? It's a nice place, trust me :)
