One and done (I hope)

Derek and I looked at our first venue and we like it. I had a little bit of a freak out when I was told the limit for the space was 60 for a seated dinner and there was no wiggle room. I thought to myself "if I get shingles again, it's going to be because of wedding planning". I emailed the guy we met with and told him that we liked the place and would see if we could make it work with our guest list. He then replied with some ways we could make more than 60 work. If we moved the start of the wedding earlier in the afternoon we would be able to have more space. Yes! We still need to keep it under 75 but that we can do. Sorry shingles, but you're going to have to save yourself for another stressful time. Don't worry, there will be plenty.

Could we be one and done in the search for a venue? I hope so.

I'm looking forward to the long weekend. We have dinner plans with Germana and Andy at a fancy steak house called Mooo.... that is the exact name. It looks like it's going to be in the low 70s for Marathon Monday! Too hot for runners but not for the day drinkers. I'll let you guess which category I fall into.

  1. Fingers crossed your venue plans work out! A steak house called Mooo - I wonder if it turns off the people who forget that beef comes from mooers. I appreciate the truth in it. Happy Marathon, I'm sure you'll rock it!

  2. Mooo, you say? I guess they only serve steaks rare? ;-)

  3. Yay day drinking! Also sounds like the easiest venue decision ever. Well done!

  4. You've had shingles?! Oh, my god, I'm so sorry, but do tell me that you got the vaccine once they cleared up. I had them around my eye, and if my resident nurse hadn't sent me packing to Urgent Care, I would have assumed that the rash was due to something like an allergy, and might have lost the eye.

    1. I got shingles about 4 years ago from stress over my bathroom being renovated. Thank God my eyes were safe. I can't say the same for my bottom though. That's where I got it the worst and right around my waist. I thought it was poison ivy or bug bites, I couldn't figure it out. I finally got so bad I had to go to the doctor.

They won't give me the vaccine because I'm "too young and shouldn't get it again". Yea ok....

You never want to tough it out because there's a antiviral drug that can minimize it, whereas if you don't get the drug, your life can be a torment for years. People who were not previously suicidal sometimes kill themselves because they can't bear the pain. I guess you know that stress can't bring on the shingles unless you've had the measles.
