Four days

Tomorrow is my last day of work before the wedding. I took Thursday and Friday off to run errands and spend time with family and friends. We picked up our rings from the jeweler today. I'm really happy with them. I wish I could wear mine now but I'll be good and wait a few days.

Before I head to bed I wanted to share an incredible story I read on the Atlantic today, My Family's Slave. It's a long read but well written and worth the time.

"She lived with us for 56 years. She raised me and my siblings without pay. I was 11, a typical American kid, before I realized who she was."

  1. I read a bit of the intro to the story. I must go back and read the whole thing now! My mom was from the Philippines, "Lola" is a term for grandmother. Something to read in lieu of your blog while you're off becoming a wife, I suppose. Have a great wedding! Tell us all about it!

    1. Right? I can't imagine having lived that life. And yet she was still so kind!
