Ugly sweater live band karaoke

Thursday night I went to live band ugly sweater karaoke at the Landsdowne. I had a blast!

The french fries looked so good here but I passed on the fires and ordered corned beef and cabbage spring rolls. They were very good so I didn't feel too deprived.

I was too chicken to sing karaoke with a live band. Once I actually decided I was ready to do it the sign up sheet was really long so I didn't sign up. Next time I'm going to suck it up and do it.

Live band karaoke is intimidating. They do have lyric sheets though which helps. Lil-Anne gave me her ugly sweater koozie that she got for singing.

This was quite the drunken duet. They sang twice, I'm sure you can imagine how the second time went.

Apparently the bathroom and I decided to coordinate. Man I'm so cool. Check out the ugly sweater koozie.

There were no hooks in the bathroom stalls. I had to pee with my purse around my neck. Don't worry I am not actually peeing here. That's a whole different level of selfies no one wants to see. I'm still standing up in the stall.

Moving on to Friday night! Derek and I had Thai food at Montien. I ordered a Pom Pom Margarita. It had pomegranate juice in it and it was really good. I also successfully tied a cherry stem in a knot with my tongue. File that under "skills that do NOT pay the bills".

After dinner we tried to find a bar that wasn't super packed. We ended up going to Sweet Water. I was going to snap chat some of my friends and I heard these guys saying they should photo bomb so I asked them if they wanted to be in the snap chat.

Can't really remember who I snap chatted with this but I hope you enjoyed!

Now I'm just waiting to see when this snow storm is going to start and if it will alter my Saturday night plans.

I've spent most of this week away from the computer which was needed. I haven't even checked facebook in a while which is a big deal for me. It's become a habit to take out my phone and just see what's going on on facebook. I'm trying to get better about this.

I've had the best time the past couple of days. I went to karaoke at a gay bar with my friend Ashley. Ashley is not gay but she has a few friends that are and this bar just has such a fun atmosphere. I can see why she goes there with her friends.

Derek's friend Paul is in the navy and leaving to fulfill his duties so we took him out on Friday. I may or may not have borrowed his hat.

In true Ginny style I ate some pizza days and promptly passed out not long after this.

There were more parties and grilling the rest of the weekend. I attempted grilling corn on the grill in the husk and it came out great! I like it better than just boiling.

I've barely been home and my cats have gone insane because of that. They are crawling all over me for attention. No amount of petting will satisfy them. They should be back to normal tomorrow I hope.

And happy Father's Day! Sending out my love to my dad who passed a long time ago but is certainly not forgotten.

Karaoke night and crazy nails

It's been freezing in Boston. I am officially done with winter. Every time I step outside and an icy blast of wine hits my face I whimper a little on the inside and try to think summer thoughts.

The weather has not stopped me from going out though. People comment sometimes that they don't know where I get the energy from. I say do it now while I still can.

Thursday I went to a gay karaoke night with Ashley. I highly recommend that you do a duet with a gay man. They have some style!

Karaoke was Thursday night. I took Friday off so I wouldn't be dead. Ashley made us brunch in the morning and it was delicious.

Friday and Saturday I went out with Derek. He had been sick so I hadn't seen him for about a week. I was greeted with flowers back at his place.

Derek and I met an interesting couple Friday night. I couldn't stop looking at the woman's nails. They were impressive. I'm talking zebra print, leopard print, glitter. I don't know how we started talking (it was not due to me looking at her nails) but at some point I asked them how they met. I was expecting online dating but turns out they met at a threesome and left their spouses for each other. Not the answer I was expecting. This is why I like talking to random people in bars, you never know what crazy conversations you'll end up having.
