How to dress for weather. Simple and easy tips you can follow so I don't have nightmares about your toe socks and sandals.

Hello and welcome to SPRING. Here's a cold and some snow for you ENJOY.

That pretty much sums up my weekend.

People really just don't know how to dress themselves for weather. Let me tell you what I saw on the T this morning.

Person #1 I'm calling hippie Jesus. Hippie Jesus had longish hair and ripped jeans (naturally ripped from being old, not bought like that, trust me I can tell) and socks with sandals. It's snowing with two inches of snow on the ground and this guy is wearing socks and open toed sandals. My OCD was going off the charts. He had snow all over his feet and I could not stop looking! WTF dude. That can't be warm! They were the toe socks too and multicolored like this.

Maybe hippie Jesus just really wanted to show off his socks or maybe he inspired that Sarah McLachlan song Building a Mystery because who the hell wears sandals in the snow? I think this will haunt me for a long long time. Wet socks and snow = pure horror for me.

Person #2 I'm calling Bridget Jones. Bridget came barreling down the sidewalk outside of the T stop with arms flailing and she was wearing a skirt with no tights. He legs were so cold they were bright red. At least she was wearing snow boots unlike person #1 and #3.

Person #3 I will call Posh Spice because she was wearing stilettos in the snow. Girl put them in your bag and wear some boots like a normal person. I promise you can change into your heels of death and pain when you make it safely to your office.

Maybe I should create a seminar called "HOW TO PROPERLY DRESS YOURSELF ACCORDING TO THE WEATHER."

No sandals in the snow.
No bare legs in the snow.
No stilettos in the snow
Wear boots.

Damn I just gave away my whole seminar for free.

  1. Socks and flip flops are always a no no, even without snow. :D

  2. I could never understand why women did not wear something comfortable to work and then change into those painful (but sexy) high heel things. Then in the 80's(?) there was a subway strike for a couple of weeks and all the women started wearing sneakers to work and then change, because they had to do so much walking. After the strike they continued wearing sneakers and changing.

A fashion change brought by necessity.

    1. I have a bunch of shoes at work that I change into at my desk. I have to walk quite a bit in the morning to get from the T to my office so I'm going to be comfortable.

  3. Toe socks - wow. I could understand that crazy dressing out her in the Southwest. My husband wears shorts year round. But you'd think in Boston people would know how to dress for the cold. It takes all kinds of kinds, I guess.

    1. I admit that I have worn sandals and a winter coat but there was no snow and I was just going to the store!

  4. Toe socks still exist?!
Wasn't it you Boston people that had that day where everyone was out in their underwear? Maybe this is just an extension.

  5. Always wear layers when it's cold. Lots of layers, trousers, boots hat and gloves. Flip flops are awful I never wear them even when it's warm. I hate something between my toes ;o)

    1. I also can't stand things between my toes. I can handle sandals but the toe socks are so uncomfortable. I tried them once to see what they were like. Never again.

  6. People are ridiculous. A woman I work with wore stilettos last winter. She fell on ice and broke her jaw; had to have it wired shut for 6 weeks plus multiple dental surgeries. Fun times!
