Why is no one dressing their babies up in snakes for St. Patrick's Day?

I know I already posted once today but I just had to get this off my chest.

Everyone is posting photos of their baby, pet, grandparent, etc... decked out in St. Patrick's Day gear. If it's green and remotely Irish and especially if it includes glitter it is being put on babies and the elderly who don't get a say. I'm surprised no one has gone all out. This is a holiday to celebrate St. Patrick who supposedly drove all the snakes out of Ireland. Yes all of them. So someone please decorate your baby in snakes. Fake or real, I don't care. Throw some glitter on them too to make them extra festive. Let's get back to the true spirit of St. Patrick's Day.

If only St. Patrick could work his magic and drive the college kids out of Allston.

Look for the giant giraffe

Today is the big St. Patrick's Day Parade in Southie. I went one time a few years ago and I'll never go again. It's not worth the hassle of getting there and dealing with the drunk crowds. Thank God the parade is nowhere near where I live.

Last night Derek and I journeyed to the other side of the river to Somerville for my old roommate Todd's birthday. The T ride took forever due to a disabled B line train but what else is new? We finally made it to the new Assembly Square station and attempted to find food. Every restaurant was packed. One restaurant had an hour and forty-five minute wait. Yea, no thank you. We finally got a table at Tony C's and showed up to the party late but we made it.

Todd and Julie coordinated their outfits but Julie is not pleased.

I was very impressed by Julie's doodling skills.
Todd lives near Legoland and had mentioned a giant giraffe as a landmark to find his apartment building. Of course I needed a picture with it.

Our trip home home was quicker but full of your usual late night drunk folk. We ordered late night pizza (calzone with no sauce for me) which I'm paying for with some heartburn today. That's what I get for eating before bed.

Say no to tutu overalls

I have been out the past three nights. It's been fun but I need some down time at home.

Boston has been celebrating St. Patrick's Day all weekend. I have no plans to go out on Monday. I've had enough of the crowds this weekend.

It was warm enough on Saturday that I could open a window. The cats were thrilled as was I. I walked to TJ Maxx to try to find a few summer dresses for St. Thomas but I couldn't find anything I liked. I walked into Urban Outfitters just because it was nearby and walked right back out after about two minutes. That store has gone so downhill. I used to find some cute things there once in a while even though I always found their clothing overpriced. Now it's like the biggest hipster crapfest I've ever seen. They were actually selling tutu overalls. Who would buy that? It was on the sale rack so I hope that means that no one was buying that. I came home and ordered a few things online. I hope something fits. I haven't been having the best luck with online shopping lately.

After my little shopping trip Derek and I went to Redbones and met up with Todd and Katie. We left around 9:30. Just can't do 3 nights in a row like I used to.
