Bands and singers that most people like and I do not. A very important list.

Everyone has that band or singer that they just don't like but it seems that everyone else does. I thought I'd share my list of bands or singers I just don't care for despite being popular.

1. U2 - ok U2 you used to be kind of good. Your songs used to have a point. I will never forgive them for singing about a mole digging in a hole. There's a right way to do dumb lyrics (see Train) and a wrong way. Also, all your newer songs sound the same. I can't tell them apart. Bono, lose the sunglasses, you look like a fool, a FOOL I say.

2. The Foo Fighters - I think Dave Grohl is a nice guy. I've never met him but that's the impression that I get. I just can't like the Foo Fighters. Their songs are boring to me, very blah and generic. I feel bad for saying it because I like Dave Grohl but that's just the way it is.

3. Coldplay - I do like a few Coldplay songs it's just that I don't understand the hype. How are they as big as they are? Why does Chris Martin creep me out so much? I do not want to meet Chris Martin, I'd probably run away.

4. John Mayer - He sing talks. You see it's a trick to make you think he's singing but really he's talking softly. I hate it. I imagine he's very full of himself, flipping his hair and hitting on 21 year old girls telling each one that this song was about them *wink*. This is what I picture him doing in my head. Seems pretty accurate to me.

5. Beyoncé - I think I will get a lot of shit for this but bring it. I can't stand her singing voice. I can barely make it through any of her songs. Trust me I've tried because it seems like everyone LOVES Bey but I just can't get into her music.

Feel free to share your picks in the comments.

  1. I'm with you on U2. I always enjoy with South Park makes fun of them or Bono. I can't handle Ariana Grande. She might have a good voice BUT I can't understand a word she's singing most of the time!

    1. Yes Ariana Grande is another one. Not a fan of her.

  2. #1 - TOTALLY agree!
    #2 - Same as above
#3 - Again, agree, but I'm not too creeped out by Chris Martin. I wouldn't invite him for Thanksgiving, though.
#4 - YES! Snore. "bubble gum tongue?" Eeew!
#5 - Beyoncé's okay, but has been going downhill in my opinion.

My honorable mention: Katie Perry. Preacher's daughter gone bad. Gimme a break...

  3. In Bono's defense, the sunglasses are because he has glaucoma.

I don't like Rihanna for the same reason you don't like Beyonce. And I don't like rap- any rap.

  4. The only one on your list that I would disagree with is the Foo Fighters. And I do agree they sound a bit generic -- but for generic rock, I think they do it well.

Coldplay I'll admit I haven't given that much of a chance... I don't think I necessarily dislike them, but I am bored by them.

I don't care for Beyonce. I don't mind her voice so much, but her music has never done anything for me. I like Single Ladies and a couple of songs from her first solo album. But most of them I think I like for nostalgia.

Oh, and U2 is the worst.

    1. That's kind of how I feel about the Foo Fighters. Their music just doesn't do anything for me.

I do kind of like Single Ladies but I wouldn't put it on my ipod.

  5. I agree 100% on 1,2, and 3. I haven't consciously heard anything by John Mayer in ages. I like Beyonce alright, I suppose. Mostly what bugs me these days is how "good singing" has become synonymous with belting out a tune as powerfully as possible. I can appreciate a powerful voice when it's appropriate, but some vocalists these days have the volume up at 11 all the time.

  6. Well, If you do not like someone why you want to publish it? We all have our choice to like or dislike something and either way, we should respect it. I believe that music is about sharing love and love should not be turned into hatred.
    Thanks.
By the way, you have published a very important list. I do not know why you do not like them but, you have the rights..........
