Just call me Fred Flintstone

My car (Legolas) will soon be gone. There's a giant hole in my floor panel and it would end up costing a couple grand to fix. I just don't think it's worth putting that much money into my car. It has a lot of miles on it and I'd rather put that money towards a new car. I just have bad luck with cars.

My advice to you is to not buy a Nissan. Apparently this is a well known problem with many Nissans and Nissan refuses to issue a recall because it's not a major safety issue. Oh I'm sorry, so it's safe to Fred Flintstone my way around?

Better work on my yabba dabba do. Nissan just doesn't want to issue such an expensive recall. I've had many cars and they've survived New England winters with no rotting floor pans.

So now I need to figure out if I'm going to sell my car or donate it for the tax right off.

If anyone can give me some good car mojo I'd appreciate it.

Where's my phone and who is Vig?

On Friday night I lost my phone for the first time. That certainly wasn't fun. I rarely keep my phone out on a table or a bar because I'm afraid of forgetting it and well that's exactly what happened. Derek and I were so focused on catching the bus on time that we flew out of there and left my phone behind. Once I realized my phone was MIA I had a bit of a freak out. I didn't want to miss the call from the guy who was coming to fix my busted windshield in the morning. I had to call the repair place and ask them to call Derek's phone. I was a bit worried that they would still call my phone considering every person I talked to there kept calling me Vig no matter how many times I told them my name is Virginia.

I think this was the most action Derek's phone has seen in a long time. He really doesn't use his much.

It all worked out thankfully. My friend saw my phone on the bar and grabbed it for me. She's a true hero in my eyes so I do have my phone back. The glass guy came and replaced my windshield. Let's hope it doesn't leak and that it stays in one piece and that I don't stupidly leave my phone anywhere again.

One thing I should add is that when I went to drive my car after it was fixed a young woman across the street came over and told me that she heard some guys that lived in the yellow house near where I park talking about their friend Alex jumping on a car on marathon Monday and damaging it. I thanked her for letting me know. There's not much I can do, I have no proof but I do appreciate that she told me.

Looney Toons nightmare

Staying in tonight and not blow drying my hair. It feels good! Maybe that's just the fried mushrooms talking.

I got some very annoying car stuff done today. Replaced my mirror and got my inspection sticker. BAM. Car stuff is about as fun as going to the dentist. Talked to my mother a few times and I'm going to visit Tony in the hospice tomorrow.

I took a nap and dreamed about getting a horrible tattoo. I woke up freaking out. At least it wasn't Tweety Bird this time. Looney Toons tattoos freak me out.

You don't want to know what songs your mother is trying to download

I checked on my geese on the way to work yesterday. They were gone for a little while but now they are back with more friends. The little babies are growing up fast. I keep telling them that they could probably find a nicer place to raise their little ones but they think a grassy underpass near stagnant water in the city is a great location.

My car is back in the shop again. Lucky me! Another repair that will cost me a couple hundred dollars. I didn't even know there was a "service engine soon light", I thought there was just a "check engine light"! I don't know much about cars as you can see. Any other get your car checked out soon lights I should know about?

Moving onto other frustrating things, my mother called me last night asking me for help downloading songs from itunes. I couldn't figure out what was wrong so I asked her to text me a picture of her screen and got this via text.

My mom is trying to download Wrecking Ball by Miley Cyrus. I don't really have anything else to say.

My car is fixed and I didn't have to sell a kidney

I have horrible luck with cars. 99% of the time if my car needs to be repaired it will cost more than $800.00. My newest car (Legolas the Nissan) had a check engine light come on. This was the first time I've had to bring Legolas to a mechanic since I purchased the car last spring. I was preparing myself for a hefty bill and eating soup every meal for a month. Luckily it was under $300.00. I was thrilled!

I don't want to jinx myself so I'm knocking on internet wood here but it's nice to not want to cry when you pickup your car from the mechanic.

And if you haven't guessed I do name my cars and other inanimate objects. Legolas is obviously green.

Still getting over being sick and Bosco is high as a kite.

Bosco is back from his 3rd dental surgery in 3 years. He's still out of it but the vet that I go to now uses a shot of antibiotics and pain meds (time released) so I don't have to shove pills down his throat. So much better! This vet is also cheaper because they're in the burbs and not in the city. The vet said that he should not need to have dental work next year as all his back teeth have been pulled. Fingers crossed.

I'm still not feeling 100% but I'm slowly getting there. The cough I have sounds awful but my nose is feeling better. Derek is getting stir crazy. I'm hoping I feel well enough tomorrow to go out for a little bit. Nothing crazy! Saturday is my birthday party.

I called my insurance company and my insurance does not cover the mirror because I do not have "comprehensive coverage". I already pay almost $200.00 a month for car insurance so I'm not adding it on. Derek thinks he can put on the new mirror himself so that's good at least. He also offered to pay for the mirror which is really nice of him. Money has been tight for me due to my teeth and my fur child 's teeth. My "emergency fund" is once again drained. Better wait to buy that mansion until next year.

I've started re-watching Veronica Mars on Amazon Prime. I haven't seen it in so long I've forgotten so much! The first season aired in 2004! How was that ten years ago?!

Makes me wish I went to high school in California and was a sassy teenage detective.

You can't ruin my birthday week car vandals.

The last couple of days have been full of ups and downs.

My birthday is on Tuesday so obviously the celebration has already begun. Some people don't like to celebrate their birthdays, I love celebrating my birthday. Since my co-worker Lilly and I have close birthdays we went out after work on Thursday to celebrate.

Patrick always puts our tab under "Lawyers in Love"

Finally got a photo with Patrick! He is so nice. One of the best bartenders in Boston.

I got home and passed out. Derek wakes me up at 2:30 in the morning saying "you're not going to like this". I look out the window and my car mirror is hanging off. I wasn't the only one though. Three drunk guys were going down the street and kicking mirrors off of cars. They got a lot of them. Luckily my neighbor across the street saw them and followed them down the street calling the cops. They were arrested. It's just so infuriating that people who do this.

A police report was filed on behalf off everyone who had a damaged car so I don't have to go and fill one out. I am going to pick up a copy of the report and see where I can get with insurance.

At least the wire connections are ok.

Besides the car thing my aunt has been in and out of the hospital and they think it is pancreatic cancer. My mom has been having a hard time with this but is holding it together. Her boyfriend also has cancer and has not been feeling well. Family members have been doing the best they can to make sure my aunt has meals made for her and company. They had to switch her meds and she's schizophrenic so it's best to have someone around to make sure she's ok.

It's been a weird week. That's the best way I can describe it.

The only rule for drunken college parade is be drunken

Hello there, thank you for contributing to the great boot debate yesterday. Enjoy this at work selfie.

One point for not summer time - I can let my hair dry naturally and it looks decent. Summer time = poof town USA population me.

I want this painting. It's hanging out on a display in the mall near my work.

Crazy Dough opened in the mall and of course I had to get that potato dreamboat of a pizza right there. It was so good. I better eat grass for lunch tomorrow. I kid people, I love food way too much to not eat.

I had to purchase another umbrella yesterday. I just bought this blue one with bubbles and it's already broken. I need a super hardcore umbrella - the iron man of umbrellas. Preferably it would be delivered by Robert Downey Jr.

My car is missing the back cover to one of it's mirrors. I should be thankful my mirror is still there and functioning. Drunken college parade happens every weekend (and sometimes on week nights) and no one and nothing is safe. I'm assuming the back cover to my drivers side mirror was used as a musical instrument or a ball during drunken college parade. Now how do I go about getting another one of these? I suppose I could call a salvage yard. My car is a popular color as I've seen my car's siblings all over the city in the exact color (Legolas green). I suppose I shall be an adult and figure it out or procrastinate and complain about it which is also the adult thing to do.
