Happy Friday! The sky is blue, the birds are chirping and there are donuts in the lunch room.

Plastic fetuses and keyboard jams
I decided to walk to work this morning. My legs are a bit upset with me as we haven't done a 50 minute walk in a while but I told them to calm it down we could use the exercise.
I passed by two woman outside Planned Parenthood. One was handing out cards and crosses, the other was playing the keyboard that was resting on the hood of her car. They had propped up a piece of poster board with baby dolls in fake plastic wombs glued to it. Very different than the projects I did on poster board in school.
I continued my walk and really wanted water. I didn't plan this very well. I did at least wear sensible shoes.
When I made it into work I told my co-workers at the front desk that I walked all the way here. I need someone to tell me "good job".
I also texted Derek to let him know since he worked from home today and I walked alllllll the way to work. I'm sure he will point out that I didn't have to walk to work and he's right but someone missed out on plastic fetuses and keyboard jams and it wasn't me.
How was your commute today?

MISSING: All of my cardigan sweaters
Where are my sweaters guys? I swear I took them with me when I moved but I can't find them anywhere. I'm finding things I didn't even know I had but not my cardigan sweaters. I'm not missing any other clothing so someone really likes cardigans and stole them.
I'm missing four in a variety of work appropriate colors - gray, blue, black and yellow. I will now have to go on Forever 21 dot com and purchase new cardigans. When you work in subzero temperatures you need a cardigan. I think it's time to slap this shit on a milk carton. It's getting real serious.
Side bar: at what age do I have to stop shopping at forever 21? I am a very young 29.
Please, if you see a pile of work appropriate cardigans please return them to me. Your reward will be me singing any song of your choosing and whatever beer I have in my fridge.

A lawn in the city
My next door neighbors have set up a kiddie pool on their front lawn. They don't have any kids, they just hang out around it or sit in it listening to music and drinking beer. Living in Allston I expected to be surrounded by college students but I think my neighbors are closer to my age (which is a young looking 29 if you were wondering). I mean they turn their music off at a respectable hour. I want to go over and hang out. How can I befriend them? They also have a grill. A grill in the city! This is almost as rare as having a front lawn.
I really like my new neighborhood with front lawns and houses. I like that my building only has six units. This could all change September 1st. This could be the calm before the college age kids storm by for now I'm enjoying it.

This is why I can't have nice things
So this is the before of my dress (please also notice my hair that cost $105.95).
And this would be the after.
Yep I ripped the zipper on my bridesmaid dress. At least this happened after the ceremony.
There was a photo booth and scallops wrapped in bacon. Don't even invite my to your wedding if you don't have scallops wrapped in bacon.
My cousin looked beautiful on her wedding day. I had a ton of fun but I'm glad the bridesmaid duties are over. It's a lot of work and a lot of money but I do it for love!
I tossed the dress in the trash in the hotel room. At least the ripping saved me from the what do I do with this bridesmaid dress conundrum.

Pretty much the best lights ever

My mother bought me Pillsbusry Doughboy lights at an estate sale for my kitchen. Almost all of my home decor is given to me by my mother because she likes to go to yard and estate sales abut she doesn't like to have clutter in her home. Thus she passes it on to me. Luckily she usually gives me things that I like.
These lights are pretty much the coolest. They kept falling down as I was using tape to hold them up but then Derek fixed them with some type of poster wall hanging adhesive without telling me. How nice was that? I'm training him well (just kidding Derek).
For those who have asked co-habitation is going well. I even caught Derek petting the cats! gasp!

I moved. I'm sore. I'm still internetless!
I moved on August 1st which is why you have not been assaulted with multiple blog posts everyday as usual.
I still have no internet at home which I'm going to blame on Latisha from Comcast since she claimed she would take care of tracking down the previous tenants to cut off their cable because they are idiots and never did it. Latisha never did any of that though because when I called back after the 48 hour window I was told there was no record of my calling Comcast.
Does Latisha exist? I don't know. Is she actually one of the previous tenants? Are we in the Matrix?
I am updating this from work, but don't worry this is my lunch. Mmmmm blog. It's delicious but probably bad for your health. I just wanted to let the few people that read this thing what's happening.
What has been happening since I moved:
There is a one handed man who collects cans that lives across the street.
There are rats (but outside so that's ok)
The apartment is great. I love it.
The neighborhood seems pretty quiet although who knows what will happen as of September 1 which is the college kids apocalypse.
The kitties are enjoying the windows. They can now see the outside world instead of a brick wall.
Derek and I have survived the first few days of co-habitation. We're still unpacking and getting settled in but the move is DONE. Thank God. Never move yourself. I am hiring movers from here on out.
Hopefully I'll be back in action soon with random pictures and cat stories.
